Welcome to my first regular feature- Friday Night Fashion and a Movie. In these posts, we'll cover my favorite modern movies wit vintage style.
Today was very cold, snowy and grey outside. As you know from my post on dealing with winter blues. I tend to close all of the windows, turn on all of the lights and pretend like it's sunny out.
During the beginning of the week, I cleaned my house, did laundry and got several sewing projects completed so today, I was looking for vintage fashion inspiration, so I put on the movie "Chocolat" while I cut out a jacket pattern to match my houndstooth pencil skirt.
All of the lovely scenes where Vianne stirs smooth, melted rich chocolate makes me want to go to the gas station up the street and demolish the candy aisle. I made myself a cup of hot cocoa to try to control the cravings.
The costuming in the movie is just stunning. I love Vianne's red heels, orange cardigans and striking blue dress against the grey dullness of the oppressed French village setting. What a magical movie... Vianne
